Most GSK servo drives don’t actually need repair in the board-level sense.

Usually it’s one of these:
encoder cable
motor encoder
wrong parameters
bad power supply
grounding noise
blown IPM / IGBT

First thing: don’t open the drive yet.

Check the alarm code first. That tells you where to look.

If it’s encoder related:
Check cable, plug, 5V supply, shielding, connector pins.

If it’s overcurrent:
Check motor windings, U/V/W shorts, IPM module, brake resistor.

If it’s parameter fault:
Reload parameters before assuming hardware failure.

Big mistake people make:
They replace the drive when the motor or cable is the real problem.

Best troubleshooting method:
Swap one thing at a time.

Swap:
motor
encoder cable
drive

If the fault follows the motor, it’s motor side.
If it stays with the drive, then open the drive.

Inside the drive, most common failures are:

IPM / IGBT
power supply board
electrolytic caps
optocouplers
cooling fan

If the display is dead:
Start with low-voltage power supply section.

If display works but servo won’t enable:
Usually feedback, enable circuit, or parameter issue.

If it instantly trips breaker:
Usually shorted bridge rectifier or IPM.

Before powering after repair:
Use current limit or bulb limiter if possible.
Don’t full-send power into a questionable drive.

Realistically:
If DSP/CPU is dead, donor board is often cheaper than repair.

Basic rule:
Check wiring first, then motor, then parameters, then power stage.
