Even beginners new to servo drive settings can follow along to complete the CNC retrofit of an old small lathe.

Hardware Configuration: A frequency converter drives the tool post; three servo drives control the spindle, X-axis, and Z-axis respectively; a spindle enable delay switch is added; and an external joystick replaces button operation.

Operation Demonstration: Demonstrates the operation of spindle forward/reverse rotation, electric tool changer, and automatic tool feed; demonstrates the complete manual tool setting process.

Future Plans: Wiring is reserved for adding emergency stop buttons; a PLC integrated screen is planned for electrical monitoring and manual control; suggestions for the screen's installation location are being solicited.

Power-on Display: Servo motor parameters, servo drive, frequency converter, and other settings are complete.

Demonstration of spindle forward/reverse rotation and spindle stop; enable delay of 3 seconds after spindle stop to disable.

Demonstration of electric tool post tool changer with jog switching of tool number, equipped with a handwheel and joystick.

Demonstration of tool setting operation: Manually setting the workpiece zero point for tools 1 and 2.

Demonstration of automatic tool feed program: Switching to automatic mode after tool setting is complete.
