Over Travel Alarm Due To Limit Switch Shorted
Over travel alarm display as soon as turn on the CNC system, and only for Positive direction, X and Z axes can be moved to negative direction, other functions like spindle, tool changer and coolant pumps are fine.
Solution:
In this case we found the limit switch of the Z axis is in short circuit, because the limit switches of X and Z are in parallel connection, so if one of the limit switch shorted, the other will get the same alarm. The machine resumed after changed the limit switch.
Solution:
- Check if the limit switch of the X or Z axis are shorted or not?
- Check if the cables of the X and Z limit switches is shorted or not?
- Is the I/O board of the CNC controller shorted or not?
In this case we found the limit switch of the Z axis is in short circuit, because the limit switches of X and Z are in parallel connection, so if one of the limit switch shorted, the other will get the same alarm. The machine resumed after changed the limit switch.
